Melina Druga
Rumor has it that Melina Druga came out of her mother’s womb with a pen in her hand. While we can neither confirm or deny this, you could say she was destined to become a writer. Melina was so young when she began writing that she can’t remember exactly when the urge began. She does remember, however, her first novel – an historical fiction story about two sisters living in an Ohio canal town in the 1840s – that she wrote at age 10. Music keeps Melina sane, and it has gotten to the point that she cannot write without it. It keeps her awake, alert, motivated and productive. Music has even inspired her fiction. And not just The Rock Star’s Wife series. The My Chemical Romance song “Mama” was the inspiration for her historical fiction novel Angel of Mercy. Melina lives in the Midwest with her husband, daughter, black cat, books and CD collection.

Cynthia Myer
Cindy (Cynthia) Myer lives the country life in central Illinois, the U.S.A. with her husband, children, and dogs. She enjoys a great cup of hot tea while watching the sunrise over the pond and snuggling up with a good book to read and a dog to keep her feet warm. For more than two decades, Cynthia Myer spent her days teaching in a public high school, community college, or small groups such as Boy Scouts, Bible School, and Prevention programs while raising a family of three children with her husband. From a very young age, she knew she wanted to be in a profession that helped others - doctor, nurse, teacher, farmer, etc. In her early college days, she discovered tutoring and a joy in teaching others to succeed. Decades later as the education environment changed, she found herself drawn to teach and help in a different way - as an author of books. As a teacher, an urgent issue was quite apparent: our children as high school students were not well-equipped emotionally to be young adults. These students could hardly identify their feelings accurately and efficiently, much less react productively. The simplest thing (book knocked off a desk by a classmate) could inspire an extreme outburst and possibly a verbal or physical altercation. To address this issue, Cynthia began exploring WHY this was happening. The American family structure had fundamentally changed in the preceding years. Gone was the two-parent structure with family meals together and hours of honest communication. Single-parent homes, both parents forced to work longer and longer hours, overtaxed - physically and emotionally - modern parents simply had less time and energy to give to their children. Those children either learned on their own, from other adults in their lives or not at all how to deal with their emotions. Cynthia decided to address this issue by writing a series of books aimed at younger children AND the adult in their lives. (Younger children are more open and adaptable.) George the Grasshopper was born. This Read WITH Me Emotional Literacy Series book approaches common emotional and social issues facing our children. BUT that's not all! Each book includes built-in lessons/questions Cynthia wrote based on her years of teaching. It's like a road map for parents to open conversations with their children. Honest connections. Honest discussions. Both build the relationship AND emotional literacy that will help the child grow into an emotionally resilient young adult. Plans are in place for more George the Grasshopper books to address the growing concerns of our changing society.

S.A. Crow
S. A. Crow is an LGBTQ+ Author that lives in the Dallas / Fort Worth area of Texas with her two lovely roommates and two very odd dogs. She has always written for fun since she was a child. Having a hard childhood would help her make up imaginary worlds in her head to escape. In her 20's, she sat down and wrote a book. Admittedly, it wasn't very good as she had no idea about the craft of writing a novel. However, she did it anyway. Sadly, she lost the manuscript, but the story lives in her memory. As a former owner and editor of two internet magazines, she has some writing experience. In the mid-2000s, she was a member of the Fort Worth Haiku Society and was honored to be the President of the Society for a time. Her poetry was published in a compilation and in the Society publications. In November 2020, she signed up for NaNoWriMo and rewrote the story from her 20's. Having so many more skills now as an author than she did in her 20s, she was extremely glad she could add more flare to the story. Currently, she is a home health care worker, poet, writer, and independent novelist. When she isn't writing, she's reading a good book. In her viewpoint, age is just a level of experience to play to the end. By sharing her work and journey with you, she hopes we all can become better readers and authors together. Let's level up! The second book in her Fire Contemporary Suspense Romance Series will be out in March of 2022. If you would, please sign up for her Newsletter, Social Media sites, and check out her blog posts. They don't cost a thing, but they mean the world to an aspiring author.

Ann Payton
Sometime in the 90s, I decided I needed a dream to pursue between working and raising three children. As the science lab coordinator for a Colorado community college, I enjoyed helping revise lab manuals, so why not become a travel writer? I managed to learn enough to sell freelance articles to several major publications. Then I wrote a travel adventure novel, which led me into giving lectures on cruise ships and writing another novel. Can't wait to see where that dream's going to take me next.
